Double MajorsHave you always enjoyed the study of mathematics, but your academic interests have led you to pursue a degree in a field other than mathematics? If so, consider pursuing a second major in mathematics. Obtaining a degree in mathematics will strengthen your academic background which may impress prospective employers or prepare you for advanced studies. The study of mathematics will provided you with analytical skills useful for problem solving in any technical field. Pursuing a second major in mathematics may be easier than you think. Many of the departments within the College of Science and Mathematics require courses in mathematics to complete their major requirements and accept upper level mathematics courses as electives. The core requirements to fulfill a degree in Physics or Computer Science, in particular, satisfy many of the core requirements to obtain a degree in Mathematics.
